Air Mattress

If you've ever stayed with relatives or friends without a pull-out couch or an extra furnished room, you may have come across the handy air mattress. The nice thing about the air mattress is that they take up hardly any room when they are deflated and rolled up, and besides that, they aren't too bad to sleep on.

Also, they are quite affordable. Amazon has them in stock from under $50 to around $100, depending on the size. If you are going to invest in one of these bad boys, you may want to consider getting the electronic air pump as well to speed up the inflation process.

I love air mattresses! the only problem I find with them is that inevitably they get punctured and deflate. Sometimes a patch will fix the problem, sometimes not.

We had a really nice one that ripped on a seam and it was impossible to get the patch to stick. We ended up having to throw it out.

Also beware the offer of an air mattress in a house with cats...
sharp claws + love of cozy = holes in your air mattress

I usually cover it with towels and then a sheet protect it from my feline friend. Also a quick clip of her nails before we break it out goes a long way to protecting our guests from deflated floor sleeping.
