I always wonder how waking impacts the subconscious, then every once in a while I get a good measure for it. Recently I've been playing a really fun video game, Super Paper Mario. I think it's innovative a 2-d side scroller that allows you to flip into a 3-d perspective. It's only a Mario game, but it definitely makes me think about dimensions, and how something of substance in one dimension may be paper thin in another.
Well the evidence of the impact on my subconscious is that I've been dreaming in what I like to call 2-d flip mode. I'm walking through a Mario-esque maze and flipping the walls and scenery into 3-d mode, so I can see everything that's there. It's really wild .
Someone once old me that our subconscious goes over everything we experienced in a day backwards when we fall asleep. I don't know if that's true or not. But I definitely dream about things that have happened recently. I wonder if that's supported by the strong colorful images emanating from the television. It's so easy to absorb them into my consciousness all colorful and inviting.
Then again maybe I just need to lay off the cartoons.
